Help ensure that hundreds of older and isolated people will enjoy Christmas Day

Here at H&F Giving, we believe that Christmas is better together.

We believe that Christmas should be a time of laughter and of celebration and community. But for so many older people and adults who may have complex lives in our borough, that’s simply not the case.

Our own research from our 2025 report, Building a strong and connected community: Identifying needs in Hammersmith & Fulham, showed that many older residents in our borough are experiencing high levels of isolation. In addition, it also revealed that nearly early half (49%) of residents aged 65+ in Hammersmith & Fulham face financial insecurity. Which is why your help is needed more than ever before to make sure this Christmas is Better Together.

We want to create A Better Hammersmith and Fulham where no one spends Christmas Day alone.

Which is why we are delighted to be yet again hosting H&F’s Big Christmas Day Lunch 2026 on the 25th of December. Working in partnership with Hammersmith and Fulham Council, we will treat up to 500 residents to a delicious Christmas lunch with all the trimmings – think 50 turkeys, 500 mince pies and 1,000 cups of tea. As in previous years, there’ll be dancing, music and laughter and a day to remember.

But to do this, we need your help.

This event is funded by donations, and we are calling on the community to dig deep and support H&F’s Big Christmas Day Lunch 2026.

Let’s make this a Christmas to remember

We need to raise £55,000* to make sure older and isolated residents across our borough can come together for H&F’s Big Christmas Day Lunch, rather than spending it alone.

You could spread some festive joy this year:

  • £1,000: Could cover the cost of a table of ten people to enjoy the delicious Christmas Day lunch.
  • £100: Could mean that one of your neighbours could attend H&F’s Big Christmas Day Lunch.
  • £75: Could pay for transportation for one resident, to and from the Novotel Hotel on Christmas Day.
  • £45: Could cover the cost of one meal at H&F’s Big Christmas Day Lunch.
  • £10: Could cover the cost of an after-dinner mince pie and a warm drink.
