How We Help
When you give to our campaign, A Better Hammersmith and Fulham, you give knowing that your money will go towards funding local organisations in our borough doing incredible work.
Here at H&F Giving, we are the experts at funding grassroots groups and that’s exactly what we will do with the money raised from this campaign. The majority of the funds donated will be added to a grant giving pot, and local organisations will be invited to apply for funding from this in early 2026. H&F Giving will also keep 10p of every pound donated to cover organisational running costs, which include administering and monitoring the fund as well as supporting community panellists and local community groups.
The money raised will go to organisations who are based in Hammersmith and Fulham. Organisations like Solidarity Sports, who work with disadvantaged children in our borough who are recovering from complex trauma.
Children like Lauren
“When everything feels like it’s falling apart, Solidarity Sports is the one place that feels safe.”– Lauren*
Lauren is the eldest of six siblings and was referred to Solidarity Sports in 2020 by Children’s Services due to safeguarding concerns. She quickly built trusting relationships with staff and disclosed that she was self-harming and experiencing suicidal thoughts. Lauren’s struggle with depression has been ongoing, but through attending the organisation’s school holiday projects, Lauren has received consistent emotional support and developed friendships with other young people she can relate to.
Solidarity Sports became a safe haven, a place where she could make friends, enjoy new experiences, and escape the stress of home life.
In 2022, Solidarity Sports supported Lauren in her application to Cranleigh School, where she was awarded a full scholarship and continues to excel. She now dreams of becoming a lawyer.
However, her home life remained unstable. Her father was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer, and last year her home was declared “uninhabitable for human life” due to extreme overcrowding and mould-infested walls held together by rope. Despite her mother reporting the issues repeatedly, it wasn’t until Solidarity Sports intervened that the family was rehoused.

We work with a wide range of other organisations in the borough and fund local projects including those working with the elderly, abuse, poverty, domestic violence, isolation, young people to name but a few.
Our community panel will decide where the money goes, the panel consists of local residents who are experts in the local community.
You can help more organisations like Solidarity Sport by supporting our campaign. We are looking for 100 people to become a Champion and pledge to raise £1,000 for H&F Giving.
