H&F Giving’s Ukraine Appeal: Give Today

Refugees who have managed to flee Ukraine’s violence and destruction have begun arriving in Hammersmith & Fulham and we want to offer the best welcome – with your help.

Give now to help those who are in need

The H&F Ukraine Appeal is an appeal with H&F Council and frontline charities to supply urgent support, advice and items to those in our borough who have fled or are otherwise affected by the crisis. They overwhelmingly includes children, women, older people, and other vulnerable groups. We call on local residents and businesses to help us ensure none of them is left isolated or alone in our neighbourhood.

West London Welcome is our local partner at the frontline. The team supports refugees, from anywhere, with food, clothing, friendship and advice. They are planning a series of advice, support and friendship activities for arrivals from Ukraine in their new premises in Hammersmith.

Director Joanne McInnes said:

We have been very busy assisting Ukraine nationals to find hosts for their families arriving (or en route) with our hosting partners as well as people coming through the humanitarian route. Their needs are complex and they require a lot of casework and support, as do their hosts. We are poised and ready to continue support Ukrainian refugees arriving into West London, with community support, friendship, food, clothes, English classes. We welcome any donations to the appeal.

The war in Ukraine is a humanitarian crisis destroying the lives of innocent civilians. We welcome refugees from Ukraine – and we’re ready to offer care, safety and support to everyone who needs it.

This appeal is one of the ways residents can help us support those most in need. I want to thank everyone who donates what they can to help Ukrainian children, women, and other vulnerable refugees settle into our much loved community.

Businesses or other bigger gifts

Companies and grant makers may be able to support further, please email Savraj Kaur, Executive Director of H&F Giving, for further info on how to give. We can provide a UK registered charity receipt for audit purposes.

Savraj Kaur BEM, Executive Director of H&F Giving, said:

Cash donations are most important at this stage of the crisis. I would be delighted to facilitate anyone looking to make a larger gift to ease strain on resources and open up new opportunities for new arrivals, with the support of trained professionals.
